DEVELOPER NOTES

The series "Tales From The Outer Zone" is made on a set of rules. The first rule is that it must be a low-res adventure game in the style of Moebius and Bilal. The second rule is that each episode must be seperate stories with very different genres (the first episode being cyberpunk and the second being a horror story) but at the same time a part of one bigger story. The third rule is that it has to be made in a few weeks as a part of a game jam.

For the first two episodes, I chose MAGS (the Adventure Game Studio monthly game jam). For The Goat Crone, the theme was "Christmas", which was problematic in a fictional world. But I managed to make my own version of the old northern "yuletide".

Even though The Goat Crone is a shorter game than Cyborg Seppuku, the game features more rooms, and more demanding scenes. I tried to complete the game before Christmas, which put further pressure on production. Parts of the game was a bit too rushed. For example, I made all the music on a short train-ride, but I think it turned out fine. The score was highly inspired by the filmscore of Under The Skin.
